What prop fabrication is

Built in-house,
finished by hand.

Prop Fabrication is the workshop's prop and sculpture line - 30+ years of clay sculpting, silicone moulding, fibreglassing, epoxy and scenic finishes, and large props in polystyrene, with practical electronics integrated where the script needs them. From a single hand-sculpted hero piece to a run of repeatable casts, the same crew takes it from clay to stage-ready.

How it's made

From clay to stage-ready.

Sculpted, moulded, finished and wired by the same crew under one roof.

  1. A hand-sculpted clay master of a raised, pointing hand on the workshop bench.

    Sculpt the master

The form is hand-sculpted in clay as a master, refined until the silhouette reads from the house.

  2. A giant sculpted pointing hand rising from a raked timber deck in the workshop.

    Mould, cast or carve

A silicone mould is taken off the master so the piece casts cleanly in fibreglass or epoxy. Oversized props are carved and coated in polystyrene where scale matters more than weight.

  3. A fabricator on a lift finishing a giant clock prop in the workshop.

    Finish by hand

Epoxy detailing and scenic paint worked by hand for surface and depth, with a hard coat where the prop is handled, struck and reset night after night.

  4. A finished tree prop in teal and olive with furry foliage standing in the workshop.

    Stage-ready

LED, special effects and mechanical action are built in where the script needs them, and casts and finishes are specified to tour, venue after venue.

What prop fabrication does for your show

Four jobs, one team.

Build a hero prop

A sculpted, moulded and finished one-off that stands up under stage light and at close range.

Run repeatable props

Consistent casts and finishes across the quantities a production needs.

Make it practical

Props with integrated LED, special-effects or mechanical action built in.

Survive the tour

Durable casting and finishes that hold up across a high-cycle run, venue after venue.

What you get

The full prop line,
clay to stage-ready.

Not a single technique: sculpt, mould, cast, finish and wire a piece in-house, so the prop you brief is the prop that loads in.
