Cinema scenery and plinths on a compressed timeline
We built the secondary and tertiary packages for Hallyu, a touring exhibition on Korean pop culture, in the NMA Touring Hall.
Hallyu was a touring exhibition celebrating Korean culture of the early 21st century, booked into the National Museum of Australia's Touring Hall. Our Show Works workshop was awarded the secondary and tertiary packages. The exhibition itself was designed by others.
Our share was largely conventional wall construction, with plinths, object displays and the cinema scenery that gives the show its character. The design is quirky, nodding to cinema, K-pop and television. We built it in MDF and plywood on timber framing, and a compressed program meant it all had to come together in very short order.
