38 powered hoists counted in a single visit
A systems audit gave the venue a clear list of the hoists and controllers it owns and what each is.
City Recital Hall in Sydney wanted a clear picture of the hoisting and rigging systems it owns and what each would need. One of our technicians attended on a single day in April 2026 and counted 38 powered hoists, 2 microphone hoists and 6 motion controllers. The result is a baseline for replacement planning, not a list of faults.
The challenge
The hall needed to know what was actually installed above its stage and in its roof: how many hoists and controllers, what each one is, and what state it is in. Without that list, replacement can't be budgeted and servicing can't be scoped. The venue wanted the answer before decisions were forced on it.
What we did
One technician attended on a single day in April 2026 and worked through the hoisting and rigging systems, from the lighting bridges to the grid. For each asset, our team recorded make, model, serial number, year of manufacture and rated capacity, then noted its mechanical and operational condition with photographs. It was a preliminary audit for replacement planning, not a certification.
The result
The venue now holds a register of its hoisting and rigging assets, with age and rated capacity against each one, in a form it can take to a budget meeting. It can see which equipment is newer and which is heading toward end of life, so replacement can be staged over several years rather than arriving as a surprise, and servicing has a clear starting list.
