Cabinetry built for close inspection, installed in Canberra
Our Show Works workshop made the showcases, plinths and scenic dressing for the Peacekeeping Gallery in the Memorial's renewal.
Our Show Works workshop made the high-end cabinetry for the Peacekeeping Gallery, one of the most complex and detailed new spaces in the Australian War Memorial Renewal. We built plinths and structures into the glass showcase displays, and produced the interpretive props, sculpting and casting that dress the scenery.
Visitors see the cabinetry from close range, so it had to be durable as well as finely finished. Venetian plaster, charred timber and Corian acrylic all feature in the gallery. The job was interstate, so we kept a full installation team in Canberra for six months.
