Cycloramas - Fabric and PVC Seamless Stage Backdrops by TSA
The sky behind your story.
A cyclorama creates the blank canvas behind the performance. Used for lighting effects, projections and scenic backdrops, it allows a stage to transform from day to night, indoors to outdoors, or anywhere imagination takes it. Manufactured in fabric or PVC, every cyclorama is made to suit your venue and supplied meeting AS 1530 standards, documentation included.

An even field.
No seams, no shadows.
A cyclorama is a large, smooth backdrop stretched across the rear of the stage, designed to take an even wash of light from edge to edge. When lit correctly, it can become open sky, infinite space, a projection surface or a clean, unbroken scenic backdrop, with no seams or hot spots to break the illusion.
We manufacture fabric and PVC cycloramas tailored to the venue, for cleaner lighting effects, better projections and more immersive stage environments. Every cyclorama is made to measure, meets AS 1530 standards with documentation supplied, and is finished to suit the rigging and operating requirements of the space. Not sure which material suits the room? Use the Drape Selector.
One field, edge to edge. The colour you push into a cyc is the colour the audience reads - no seams, no hot-spots. Coverage depends on the cloth, the tension and the lighting design.
Four jobs, one clean field.
Three bases,
one clean field.
Not every cyclorama is used the same way. Some are designed for theatrical lighting washes, some for projection, and some for video production and chromakey work. We offer three cyclorama materials, each designed for a different application but all delivering the same clean, even backdrop. Select a material below to see how it performs under lighting and projection conditions.
The theatre standard.
The most common cyclorama material used in professional theatres. Filled cloth produces smooth, even lighting washes with excellent colour consistency, making it ideal for stage productions, concerts and performing arts venues. Its soft, matte finish minimises shadows and hot spots, creating the clean backdrop lighting designers rely on. Manufactured to suit your venue and designed for long-term service, it can also be cleaned and repaired in place when required.
Crisp matte white.
A crisp, matte white poly cyc at around 200 g/m2 with the fire rating built into the fibre - no retreat cycle to manage. Lighter to rig than filled cloth and a bright, even base for saturated colour washes and projection. Made-to-measure with the edge finishing and hanging method your rig needs.
Made for keying.
A chromakey canvas at around 175 g/m2 in a controlled, even green that keys cleanly under studio light - an off-the-shelf product from our trusted fabric suppliers. Spec it as a backdrop cyc for film, broadcast and photography where the back wall needs to drop out in post. Every chromakey fabric we supply is NDFR or IFR, made-to-measure to your studio.
Need a harder-wearing option? A solid PVC-coated cyclorama at 700 g/m² with welded, hot-air-bonded seams suits film studios and high-traffic permanent installs - wipe-clean and durable, tensioned with an aluminium tube bottom pocket. Every cyc is made-to-measure, meets AS 1530 standards with the documentation supplied, and is finished with the edge treatment and hanging your rig needs. Not sure which base suits the room? The workshop-side detail - how a cyc is cut, seamed and finished, and in which cloth - lives on the Reveal Productions cyclorama page.
